WHILE many in the diplomatic and society circles know Theo Arnold as the former Dutch ambassador to the Philippines, he recently unveiled a side of him that few people know: as an artist.
Arnold participated in the group art exhibit “Art Fusion,” which was shown at The Bellevue Manila last April. He presented his artworks along with Ferdie Santiago, Tito Nobleza, Angelito “Jo” Florendo, Maria Candida “Ida” Flores, Roger Crisostomo and Ral Arrogante.
Guests were dazzled by Florendo’s canvases of koi swimming in perfect harmony, the unique flowing abstracts of Flores, Santiago’s and Crisostomo’s nostalgic depiction of Filipino culture, Arnold’s vibrant tulips and Arrogante’s intricate sculptures.

Present during the show’s opening were Israeli Ambassador Menashe Bar-On and wife Eti, Belgian Ambassador Roland van Remoortele and wife Sylvia, Dutch Chargé d’Affaires Hero de Boer, Evelyn Farounbi and Bravo Filipino publisher and Managing Director Beth Victoria. As they marveled at the art pieces on display, they feasted on delicious cocktails and fine wines, as enchanting music played in the background.
